Whether you wanna believe it or not, selfie makeup is actually a thing. We've given these products a go and filled up our camera roll to discover whether the products you use can impact on how your selfie turns out, or whether it's all down to the best selfie light and angles.
Selfie Makeup: What to look for
Of course, we know you look fire in all your selfies, but if you're on the lookout for products that are specifically developed with taking photos in mind, then there are some key things to look out for.
- Pore minimising primer. To ensure your makeup applies smoothly, go for a makeup primer that'll help to create a smooth base.
- No SPF. Although sunscreen is absolutely key for wearing throughout the year due to its anti-ageing properties, it's not great for when you're in photos. Basically, most sunscreens include light-reflecting particles, which will bounce back any light if you're the subject of flash photography. We've all be victims of it: white face, tan body, but look totally fine IRL.
- Cream makeup. Great for blending, not always great for longevity. Cream based makeup will give you a flawless finish that looks incred on camera, however it will require more touch ups throughout the day.
- Finishing powder. Set your makeup with a powder that'll simultaneously help to lessen the appearance of pores and also help your makeup last longer than your selfie sesh.
Now you know what to look out for, it's time to shop our edit of the best selfie makeup you can add to your stash...
