It seems like recently books have become cool again. I mean, we know they were never not-cool, but there are so many good books out there now, especially when it comes to books focusing on female empowerment and successful women. It's become habit for the HQ team to chat about the great books we've read, and ones we're desperate to get our mitts on, so we thought it only makes sense to share our top picks with you too!

This book has almost become a right of passage for women striving to break the glass ceilings. Sophia tells the tales of her journey of creating Nasty Gal, from being a Sandwich Artist in Subway to creating her eBay store and the highs and lows of building a business. She also talks about the lessons she has learned, and how she's overcome hurdles throughout her career. This book is funny and seriously inspiring.
Milk & Honey

Milk & Honey is emotive, uplifting, inspiring, pretty much all of the emotions in one beautiful book. With four separate sections titled; 'the hurting', 'the loving', 'the breaking', and 'the healing', talking through her experiences of violence, abuse, love, loss and femininity. Some parts are a tough read, but every poem inside this book and the drawings that go alongside them are beautiful.
Not That Kind of Girl

Lena Dunham's 'Not That Kind of Girl' is a very funny collection of very honest memoirs. She doesn't claim to know it all, and the subtitle itself is a nod to that - 'A young woman tells you what she's 'learned'. Throughout the book, you will find tales that you totally relate to, and at some point you've probably been in the same position. If you can make it through this book without laughing out loud, we will be very surprised!
