Hair Oil Reviews

Kerastase Elixir Ultime Hair Oil Review | HQhair Blog
Kérastase hair oilInstagrammable packaging

Kérastase are queens of creating ultra covetable and luxe products, so their Elixir Ultime will be getting pride of place right at the front of our beauty stahs.

5/5

Ease of application

In a large bottle that's easy to hold, this product applies easily and without any excess oil.

5/5

Texture

Almost like a dry oil, this doesn't leave your hands or hair feeling sticky after application.

4/5

How it feels on hair

As it's a dry oil, hair was left easy to manage without any excess oiliness.

L'oreal Mythic Hair Oil Review | HQhair Blog
L'Oreal Professionel Hair OilInstagrammable packaging

Almost Art Deco inspired, we love the sleek packaging on the Mythic Oil, however it's a bit too long to fit in our everyday cosmetics bag!

3/5

Ease of application

With an easy to use pump that doesn't distribute too much product, Ruby easily managed to add this to her hair without any difficulties.

5/5

Texture

Beaut to apply, this is an incredibly nourishing hair oil that Ruby's already obsessed with, however it might be a bit too thick for finer hair types.

4/5

How it feels on hair

Smells unreal, and left Ruby's hair glossy but not wet.

SHOW Beauty Pure Treatment Hair Oil Review | HQhair Blog
SHOW Beauty hair oilInstagrammable packaging

Come on, just look at it ?

5/5

Ease of application

The pipette doesn’t have much control and sometimes the hair oil can drop off before you've squeezed the top of it. You have to move from bottle to hand quickly otherwise you get a trail of oil, and that can take a while to master.

2/5

Texture

The texture is lovely. It looks like it's going to be quite a heavy hair oil, but on application it's a lot lighter. A little goes a long way too - all you need is a 5p sized amount for a whole head of hair.

4/5

How it feels on hair

Kirsty'shair strands are quite fine, but she has a lot of them and this doesn’t leave her hair greasy at all! Just smooth and sleek. Plus, can I add a category for smell? I am OBSESSED!

Moroccanoil Treatment Light Hair Oil Review | HQhair Blog
Moroccanoil Hair OilInstagrammable packaging

Moroccanoil treatment always comes in its classic pharmaceutical style bottle, and we love how it looks with the rest of our beauty stash on the 'gram.

5/5

Ease of application

To use the hair oil, you have to unscrew the bottle top and replace with the pump. Although cute, it kinda leave the bottle top a bit redundant, as the pump gets filled with oil and you can't really take it out without cleaning and washing away loads of product.

However, actual application was super easy, and Lucy was only left with a little bit of residue on her hands.

4/5

Texture

A perfect light wash over Lucy's curls, there are no complaints here!

5/5

How it feels on hair

Once you've perfected the amount required for your hair type, you'll absolutely nail this product. While you're fine tuning it, you might find it hard to get just the right amount.

Redken All Soft Argan Oil Hair Review | HQhair Blog
Redken hair oilInstagrammable packaging

Emily loved the packaging, and it would fit perfectly in her haircare stash, but she'd love a box with a bit more info on the product and how to use it.

4/5

Ease of application

Lovely and silky, this product was a dream to apply.

5/5

Texture

Easily melting into hands, this was the best hair oil for smoothing away flyaways and keeping hair manageable.

5/5

How it feels on hair

Hair felt super smooth, and Emily loved the results after application.

Wella Professionals Oil Reflections Luminous Smoothing Oil Review | HQhair Blog
Wella hair oilInstagrammable packaging

Sophie loves the cute little bottle, and it'll be great for travelling, however a bigger version would be perfect for use at home.

4/5

Ease of application

Easy to apply to hair straight from the applicator, there's nothing we'd improve here.

5/5

Texture

Although great for Sophie's hair, we can imagine this would be a little much for particularly fine hair.

4/5

How it feels on hair

Sophie loved how this hair oil defined her curls, and it needs a shout out for its incredible smell!
